Halloween may have gone, but there is still the chance to scare the living daylights out of your nearest and dearest with a ghost tour at the Pike Place Market. The Market is often described as the “soul” of Seattle, but it also caters for the “lost souls” of Seattle by being voted the most haunted location in the northwest – and no wonder, as there there stands the city’s first mortuary, part of an old graveyard, and a former notorious brothel.

And getting into the spirit of things that go bump in the night with her Market Ghost Tour, is its creator Mercedes Yaeger, who is also the author of a book on the Market spectres. Her father, Michael, was one of several people who told ghost stories on Halloween night in the Market. She grew up hearing all of the ghost stories. She started building the Market Ghost Tour in 2004; in the process, making it one of the original ghost tours in the USA.
